Travelling with a surfboard is often perceived as a pain in the foot.

I have been travelling a lot to find the best spots all over the world (Bali, Srilanka, Portugal, France, Canarias, Thailand, Hawai...) and I tried to collect as many useful informations as possible to help you in your future surf trip.

Why is travelling with a surfboard so difficult ?

More and more companies tend to apply upcharges on your surfboard, some of them even ban surfboards.

Take your own board
Make sure you invest in a good travel surfbag and pack it with a lot of precautions. airlines attendants are not very famous to "handle with care" your luggage. If not packed properly you can expect some dings on the nose or tail (in best cases) that will cost you extra money and one day surfing.
